||Casula Powerhouse is proud to announce the grand opening of the Casula Kid’s Gallery with the exhibition Liverpool My World; this gallery is especially dedicated to young people up to 10 years of age.
The 2010 Casula Kid’s Gallery celebrates the creativity of young people through a program of events including: under 5’s discos, kid’s parties and regular dress-up guided tours of exhibitions starting from 23 February.
Liverpool City Mayor WendyWaller said that the launch of the Casula Kid’s Gallery was a great addition to an already thriving schools education program which has seen more than 8000 young people from the area visit Casula Powerhouse Art’s Centre.
“The Casula Kid’s Gallery is perfect for South West Sydney as we have more young people here than many Sydney areas.
“Young people under 10 and their families will definitely have their holidays or birthday parties catered for with fun and creative learning experiences at the arts centre.
“This is an excellent opportunity for parents in the area to introduce their young ones to creativity in a fun and nurturing environment,” said Mayor Waller.
The first exhibition to be shown at the new gallery is Liverpool My World from Friday 5 February, which sees pre-schoolers from across Liverpool create artworks illustrating their view of the region.
Future exhibitions programmed in the Casula Kid’s Gallery include exhibitions for kids by kids and exhibitions by artists for young people.
Children can even access the Art Studio by appointment to create their own artworks in their own time. The space can also be booked for birthday parties and children’s events.
The first events scheduled for kids start from 23 February 2010.
