Michael Collins, Show Chief Operating Officer, said with the Show falling across the two weeks of the NSW school holidays, there is no better place for a value-packed and fun-filled day out with family and friends.
“We’ve got activities and entertainment that are completely unique to the Show, and best of all, when you purchase a ShowLink ticket your return public transport is included,” Mr Collins said.
There's loads of new entertainment that's sure to "wow" Showgoers, including Dinosaur Adventures – an interactive walk-through exhibition featuring 29 life-sized animated creatures with reptilian skin that roar, breathe and stomp.
Making its debut in Sydney is Goin’ Ape – Gorillas in your midst. Performed all around the world, Showgoers will be entertained by the antics of a family of four naturalistic mountain gorilla performers and their intrepid explorer friend.
But it’s the brand new, evening entertainment on the Main Arena, featuring a spectacular 12-minute fireworks finale, that has Mr Collins most excited.
“My top entertainment pick is the original production Australiana In All Its Glory, celebrating all that we love about Australia - our breathtaking landscapes, incredible innovations, inspiring people and passion for sport,” Mr Collins said.
“The 45-minute production will take audiences on a sensory journey filled with live performances from singers, dancers, whip-crackers, lifesavers, rally drivers and MotoX riders, who will all play a part in representing and celebrating aspects of Australian life, history and culture.”
Independent School Scholarships in Australia
Many exclusive private schools in Australia provide scholarships and bursary programs to students who excell in one or more areas, such as academics, arts, music, sports, social services, in order to
allow those who are otherwise unable to afford a private education to further develop their skills, talents, and leadership in their given fields
provide opportunities for the scholarship/ bursary holders to make significant contributions to the various aspects of the school life
provide the rest of the students in their schools with role models and leadership, and also
enhance the school’s achievements and profile in the given areas
All scholarships and bursaries are performance-based, which entitle their holders partial or full reduction of school fees, and may extend to other types of financial assistance and opportunities, eg. for music scholarship holders in some cases their music tuitions are paid for by their schools.
Some schools provide scholarships to primary school students. More commonly, scholarships are for students in their high school years.
Scholarships offered can cover various periods, some for one year, some for the whole six years of high school education of the students. However, the scholarships and bursaries awarded are subject to periodical performance reviews.
In some schools, multiple scholarships can be offered to talented students, eg. 50% of academic scholarship plus 25% of music scholarship, while other students have to choose only one.
Funds for scholarships and bursaries come from accumulated donations of past students and the school communities. The decisions of awarding scholarships and bursaries are usually made jointly by the school councils and the schools, for matters such as the number of scholarships awarded in a particular year, the amount and the terms of each scholarship.
Current scholarship holders are expected to continue their contribution to the pool of funds upon establishing themselves successfully in the future.
